Best PSP Homebrew Apps
So you have Custom Firmware installed, you’ve played a few ISOs and maybe you have an Emulator or two installed, so what else can you do with your newly unlocked PSP? Number 10) PSPaint
It’s always fun to doodle a little, well why not do some drawing with your PSP? With PSPaint you can do exactly that. It’s almost like a mini Photoshop on your PSP.
Number 9) AFKIM Instant Messenger
The AFKIM messenger is awesome if you like to chit-chat on your PSP. The software supports MSN, AIM, and Y! Messenger. You will need a WiFi connection in order to use this homebrew app.

This app lets your read .PDF files on your PSP. It’s very handy if you enjoy reading or need a walk-though for some of your games.

This is probably one of the first things everyone puts on there PSP, PSPtube. It allows you to watch videos from not only Youtube, but Google video, Veoh, and many others.

Even though this only works on the PSP 1000 series, it’s truly a great hombrew app. It allows you to program your PSP to change your TV using the infrared sensor built-in to the PSP Fats.
Number 4) Kernel Mod
An absolute must if you plan on playing or running most homebrew apps and games. Kernel is a mod that lets you run 1.50 CFW/OFW games while running an actual different CFW. For instance, if you have 5.00CFW installed and want to run PSP Universal Remote, you will need to use the Kernel to do so.
Number 3) WiFi Sniffer
A very handy PSP hombrew app that lets you easily find WiFi hotspots. WiFi is especially important if you want to run the AFKIM instant messenger or browse Youtube.
Number 2) PSP-Maps
This is number two on our apps list because if you travel or ever need direction, it’s the greatest toll to have. With this Homebrew app you can view Google Maps, Virtual Apps, and Yahoo Maps. If you don’t know already, Google maps is a much better direction giver than Mapquest.
Number 1) IRshell
Most PSP gamers will agree, the single best and most handy homebrew app is IRshell. IR shell lets you play your backed up games on your PC via USB connection, output your PSP screen on the monitor of your computer and more.
